911 DISPATCHER<\/strong><\/p>\n

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the supervision of the team lead, the 911 dispatcher answers emergency calls from the public as well as from emergency responders. They ensure the reception, triage, and dispatch of these calls\u2014particularly 9-1-1, ambulance, and fire calls\u2014and enter and consult data in line with established procedures. They also provide instructions to callers to help deliver emergency care and secure the scene before responders arrive.<\/p>\n

  • Hourly rate ranging from $22.39 to $31.06 + evening\/night and weekend premiums<\/li>\n

    \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Possess strong concentration skills<\/li>\n
    • Possess good judgment and strong analytical and synthesis skills<\/li>\n
    • Be comfortable performing several tasks simultaneously<\/li>\n
    • Have a tolerance to stress and demonstrate composure<\/li>\n
    • Very good command of computerized systems<\/li>\n
    • Ability to quickly enter data using a computer keyboard<\/li>\n
    • Communicate verbally with ease in both English and French, with tact and courtesy<\/li>\n
    • Be able to rigorously apply operational procedures<\/li>\n
    • Be able to work as part of a team and demonstrate respect for others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Hold at minimum a high school diploma<\/li>\n
      • Be available full-time to work rotating day, evening, and night shifts throughout the year<\/li>\n
      • Must meet the requirements of the Ministry of Public Security: visual and auditory acuity, psychological stability, and resistance to stress<\/li>\n
      • Have no judicial impediment related to the position<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
