CAUAT and CCSAT at a glance

Our mission

The Abitibi-Témiscamingue Emergency Call Center (CAUAT) and the Abitibi-Témiscamingue Health Communication Center (CCSAT) have the mission of professionally receiving and triaging emergency calls from the population and various emergency responders, ensuring efficient and rapid follow-up.

Our services

  • 9-1-1 Emergency Center (CU 9-1-1)

  • Secondary Emergency Fire Call Center (CSAU Fire)

  • Secondary Emergency Health Call Center (CSAU Health)

  • Emergency Call Center for Municipal Public Works Services

Our accreditations

Accredited Fire Excellence Center

CAUAT is the first Accredited Fire Excellence Center in Quebec, the 5th in Canada, and the 50th worldwide to meet all the criteria of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).

Accredited Medical Excellence Center

CCSAT was approved in 2019 as an Accredited Medical Excellence Center.

9-1-1 Emergency center

CAUAT/CCSAT is the first multiservice emergency call center to hold both certifications, in addition to being certified as a 9-1-1 Emergency Center by the Ministry of Public Security.

Quality Assurance

The primary and backup call centers meet the requirements of the Civil Security Act and the Regulation respecting standards, specifications, and quality criteria applicable to 9-1-1 emergency centers and certain secondary emergency call centers. These infrastructures ensure the highest quality standards are met and guarantee the robustness and continuity of our services.

In Quebec, there are eight accredited medical excellence centers. We are the only center that holds both Fire and Medical CEA accreditations.

CAUAT and CCSAT use the services of Quality Performance Review (QPR), an independent emergency call review firm. This ensures impartiality, neutrality, and an objective assessment of our performance and the quality of our work.

CEA accreditation, recognized internationally, allows for external validation of performance, guarantees the highest level of care and professionalism, provides the community with a sense of security, and enables the call center to remain competitive in an era of consolidation.
